FULL CLOSURE OF THE WESTLEY SAFETY ROADSIDE REST AREA ON INTERSTATE 5 IN STANISLAUS COUNTY

Stanislaus County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) closed the Westley Safety Roadside Rest Area on northbound and southbound Interstate 5 in Stanislaus County. Because the rest area will be without water, it will be closed and unavailable to motorists and the public during this time.

The closure began on Monday, May 3, 2010, and will continue through Monday, May 17, 2010. Crews will rehabilitate the water well for the rest area and clean the water storage tank.

NEW ALIGNMENT ON STATE ROUTE 219 TO OPEN IN STANISLAUS COUNTY

Stanislaus County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will divert eastbound State Route 219 (SR-219) traffic to the new eastbound lane from SR-99 to Morrow Road on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.

SR-219 will remain a two-lane conventional roadway, with one-lane of traffic for eastbound and westbound motorists. Crews will also activate the signal lights at the intersections of Stoddard Avenue/SR-219 and Dale Road/SR-219.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change based on weather conditions.

This $49.8 million Proposition 1B project will relieve congestion along the project limits and accommodate future growth in Modesto and the eastern Stanislaus County Region. This project will convert SR-219 from a two-lane conventional highway to a four-lane expressway from SR-99 to Morrow Road.

NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 5 FROM WALNUT GROVE ROAD TO THE SAN JOAQUIN/SACRAMENTO COUNTY LINE IN SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY

San Joaquin County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the #2 (right) lane and right shoulder on northbound Interstate 5 from Walnut Grove Road to the San Joaquin/Sacramento County line.

Work will begin on Tuesday, May 11, 2010, through Wednesday, May 12, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Crews will prune trees in this location.

Motorists should expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

The contractor for this $6,432,000 project is DeSilva Gates Construction of Livermore, CA.

STATE ROUTE 4 (CROSSTOWN FREEWAY) IN STOCKTON

Stockton - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will treat the bridge decks on State Route 4 (SR-4) (Crosstown Freeway). No two consecutive on or off-ramps will be closed at the same time. Work will occur as follows:

• The connector ramp from eastbound SR-4 to southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) will close beginning Sunday, May 9, 2010, through Friday, May 14, 2010, from 8:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.;

• The connector ramp from westbound SR-4 to northbound I-5 will close beginning Sunday, May 9, 2010, through Friday, May 14, 2010, from 9:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.;

• The connector ramp from westbound SR-4 to southbound I-5 will close beginning Sunday, May 9, 2010, through Friday, May 14, 2010, from 9:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.

Motorists can expect 10 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

STATE ROUTE 4 FROM THE MIDDLE RIVER BRIDGE TO TRACY BOULEVARD IN SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY

San Joaquin County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on State Route 4 from the Middle River Bridge to Tracy Boulevard.

Work will begin on Sunday, May 9, 2010, through Friday, May 14, 2010, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

Crews will do road construction in this location.

Motorists should expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.
