Stanislaus County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) closed the Westley Safety Roadside Rest Area on northbound and southbound Interstate 5 in Stanislaus County. Because the rest area will be without water, it will be closed and unavailable to motorists and the public during this time.
The closure began on Monday, May 3, 2010, and will continue through Monday, May 17, 2010. Crews will rehabilitate the water well for the rest area and clean the water storage tank.

NEW ALIGNMENT ON STATE ROUTE 219 TO OPEN IN STANISLAUS COUNTY
Stanislaus County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will divert eastbound State Route 219 (SR-219) traffic to the new eastbound lane from SR-99 to Morrow Road on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
SR-219 will remain a two-lane conventional roadway, with one-lane of traffic for eastbound and westbound motorists. Crews will also activate the signal lights at the intersections of Stoddard Avenue/SR-219 and Dale Road/SR-219.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change based on weather conditions.
This $49.8 million Proposition 1B project will relieve congestion along the project limits and accommodate future growth in Modesto and the eastern Stanislaus County Region. This project will convert SR-219 from a two-lane conventional highway to a four-lane expressway from SR-99 to Morrow Road.
