Roadwork for the week of 3/15/09 – 3/21/09 for Merced County

Temporary Closure of the Atwater Boulevard On-Ramp to Northbound State Route 99 in Atwater - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will temporarily close the Atwater Boulevard on-ramp to northbound State Route 99 (SR-99).

Motorists wanting to travel north on SR-99 should enter the freeway using the Applegate Road on-ramp to northbound SR-99.

The closure will begin on Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Full Closure of the John “Chuck” Erreca State Rest Area on Interstate 5 in Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the John “Chuck” Erreca State Rest Area on northbound and southbound Interstate 5 in Merced County. Because the rest area will be without water, it will be closed and unavailable to motorists and the public during this time.

State Route 59 at 13th Street in Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be working on the electrical signals on State Route 59 (SR-59). Work will occur as follows:

· The #1 (left), #2 (right) lanes will alternately close on northbound SR-59 at 13th Street, on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, from 8:30 a.m. until 8:15 p.m., and;

Northbound State Route 99 in Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will alternately close the #1 (left) and #2 (right) lanes on southbound State Route 99 from the Sultana Drive on-ramp to Cressey Way.

Work will begin on Monday, March 16, 2009, through Friday, March 20, 2009, from 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.
