Traffic Advisory
Interstate 205 at Grant Line Road
in San Joaquin County
San Joaquin County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be working on Grant Line Road under the Interstate 205 (I-205) structure in San Joaquin County. Crews will be doing foundation pile driving at this location. Loud noise is to be expected.
Work will begin on Tuesday, September 2, 2008, through Thursday, September 4, 2008, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. and on Sunday, September 7, 2008, through Thursday, September 11, 2008, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m., except on Sunday, September 7, 2008, work will begin at 10:00 p.m.
Motorists will be allowed to use Grant Line Road, however; lane closures will be in place and motorists should expect delays. The lane closures are necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and workers in the area during the pile driving. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible. This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change based on weather conditions.
The contractor for this $102 million project is C. C. Meyers, Inc. of Berkeley, CA.

The I-205 widening project will convert a four-lane freeway to a six-lane freeway by constructing additional lanes in the median. The project also includes widening existing structures, construction of a median barrier, and re-striping Interstate 5 prior to the North Bound I-5/I-205 Connector.
