The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform maintenance on the bridges on SR-4 (Crosstown Freeway) at I-5.
Work will occur on Sunday, August 7, 2011, from 1:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Work will occur at the following locations:
• The connector ramps from eastbound and westbound SR-4 to northbound I-5 will close;
• The on-ramp from Center Street to eastbound SR-4 will close;
• The #4 (right) and auxiliary lane from the eastbound SR-4/northbound I-5 connector ramp to Pershing Avenue will close; and
• The northbound off-ramp from I-5 to Pershing Avenue will close.
Motorists should expect 10 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

• The #2 (middle) and # 3 (right) lanes on northbound I-5 from Eight Mile Road to SR-12 will close beginning Sunday, August 7, 2011, through Friday, August 12, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.;
• The #1 (left) and #2 (middle) lanes on southbound I-5 from SR-12 to Hammer Lane will close beginning Sunday, August 7, 2011, through Friday, August 12, 2011, from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.;

• The westbound off-ramp to MacArthur Drive will close beginning Monday, August 8, 2011, at 7:00 p.m. until Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 4:00 a.m.;
• The #2 (middle) and #3 (right) lanes on eastbound I-205 from Tracy Road to MacArthur Drive will close beginning Monday, August 8, 2011, through Friday, August 12, 2011, from 9:00 p.m. until 9:00 a.m.;

• Crews will perform one-way traffic control on SR-4 from the San Joaquin/Contra Costa County line to Bacon Island Road/Trapper Road beginning Tuesday, May 3, 2011, through Friday, May 6, 2011, from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.;
• SR-4 from Tracy Boulevard to Bacon Island Road/Trapper Road will close beginning Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 8:00 p.m. until Thursday, May 5, 2011, at 5:00 a.m.; and

RECOVERY ACT PROJECT WILL IMPROVE THE LANDSCAPE ALONG INTERSTATE 205 IN SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY
San Joaquin County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will soon begin construction on the Interstate 205 (I-205) Tracy Corridor Tree Planting Project.
This $770,158 project is project is being financed entirely from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 funds.
This project will consist of planting native oak trees and groundcover shrubs along eleven miles (in each direction), enhancing the landscape along this heavily traveled corridor. The project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2014.
The contractor for this project is Elite Landscaping Incorporated of Clovis, CA.

Tracy – The Department of Transportation’s (Caltrans) District 10 office in Stockton, along with the California Transportation Foundation, awarded Matthew Bowen, Merrill F. West High School senior, with a $1,000 Future in Transportation scholarship on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, during West High School’s Scholarship Night.
Monetary funds for this scholarship are raised through fundraisers sponsored by the employees of Caltrans. This annual scholarship is open to seniors who have a GPA of 2.6 or better, have an interest in a transportation related career and are graduating from a high school located within the geographical boundaries of District 10 or the child of a Caltrans employee working in District 10. District 10 covers Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, Mariposa, Merced, San Joaquin, Stanislaus and Tuolumne counties. The field of transportation encompasses an array of areas including: Engineering, Communications, Accounting, Landscaping, Legal, Information Technology, Business Administration and Construction.
