FULL HIGHWAY CLOSURE STATE ROUTE 4 IN SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY

San Joaquin County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close eastbound and westbound State Route 4 (SR-4) 1.1 miles east of the Old River Bridge. Eastbound and westbound SR-4 will be closed at the same time.

The full highway closure will begin on Friday, March 26, 2010, at 8:00 p.m. through Monday, March 29, 2010, at 4:00 a.m. Caltrans will also perform one-way traffic control from the Old River Bridge to the Middle River Bridge beginning Monday, March 29, 2010, through Friday, April 2, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Crews will replace a culvert in this location.

SR-4 westbound detour is:

• northbound Interstate 5 (I-5) (Sacramento)
• westbound SR-12 (Rio Vista)
• southbound SR-160 (Oakley)
• continue to SR-4

- OR-

• southbound on (I-5) (Los Angeles);
• merge onto westbound I-205 to (San Francisco/Oakland);
• merge onto northbound I-680 to (San Ramon/Walnut Creek);
• merge onto eastbound SR-4 to (Pittsburg/Antioch).

SR-4 eastbound detour is:

• north on SR-160 (Isleton);
• eastbound on SR-12 (Lodi);
• southbound on I-5;
• continue south to SR-4.

Motorists should be prepared to pay the $4.00 bridge toll when using northbound
SR-160.

Highway Advisory Radio and Changeable Message Signs will be in use for motorists information.

This roadway has a canal on each side, this full highway closure is necessary to ensure the safety of motorists and workers in the area.

Alternate routes should be taken. This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change based on weather conditions.

The contractor for this $400,000 project is Teichert Construction of Turlock, CA. The SR-4 Culvert Replacement Project is necessary to ensure continued mobility and the movement of goods and services along this heavily traveled corridor.

NORTHBOUND STATE ROUTE 99 AT MAIN STREET AND DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BOULEVARD IN STOCKTON

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Stockton - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the ramps on State Route 99 (SR-99) at Main Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on Monday, March 29, 2010. Work will occur as follows:

• The off-ramp from northbound SR-99 to Main Street will close from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.;

• The on-ramp from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to northbound SR-99 will close from 8:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Crews will work on landscaping in this location.

Motorists should expect 10 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

ON-RAMP FROM SHANKS ROAD IN MERCED COUNTY



Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the on-ramp on State Route 99 (SR-99) from Shanks Road.



Work will occur on Monday, March 15, 2010, at 9:00 p.m. until Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 5:00 a.m.



Crews will work on the electrical and ITS elements in this location.



Motorists should expect 5 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.



This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change based on weather conditions.

No two consecutive ramps will be closed at the same time.



Work will occur on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, through Friday, March 19, 2010, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

SOUTHBOUND INTERSTATE 5 BETWEEN FRESNO AVENUE

AND CHARTER WAY/WESTBOUND STATE ROUTE 4 IN STOCKTON



Stockton - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the auxiliary lane on southbound Interstate 5 between the Fresno Avenue on-ramp to the Charter Way/westbound State Route 4 off-ramp.



Work will occur on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. (noon).



Crews will repair the guardrail in this location.



Motorists can expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.
