STATE ROUTE 4 (CROSSTOWN FREEWAY) AT INTERSTATE 5 IN STOCKTON

Stockton - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will treat the bridge decks and work on the landscaping on State Route 4 (SR-4) (Crosstown Freeway) at Interstate 5 (I-5). No two consecutive on or off-ramps will be closed at the same time. Work will occur as follows:

• The connector ramp from eastbound SR-4 (Crosstown Freeway) to northbound/southbound I-5 beginning Sunday, April 18, 2010, through Friday, April 23, 2010, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.;

• The connector ramp from eastbound SR-4 (Crosstown Freeway) to northbound I-5 will close on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.; and

• The connector ramp from westbound SR-4 (Crosstown Freeway) to southbound I-5 will close beginning Sunday, April 18, 2010, through Friday, April 20, 2010, from 9:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m.

Motorists can expect 10 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

NORTHBOUND STATE ROUTE 99 FROM VISTA AVENUE TO ARBOLEDA DRIVE/RANCH ROAD IN MERCED COUNTY

Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the #2 (right) lane on northbound State Route 99 from Vista Avenue to Arboleda Drive/Ranch Road.

Work will begin Monday, April 19, 2010, through Friday, April 23, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Crews will crackseal in this location.

Motorists can expect 15 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

RECOVERY ACT PROJECT WILL IMPROVE THE LANDSCAPE ALONG INTERSTATE 205 IN SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY

San Joaquin County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will soon begin construction on the Interstate 205 (I-205) Tracy Corridor Tree Planting Project.

This $770,158 project is project is being financed entirely from American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 funds.

This project will consist of planting native oak trees and groundcover shrubs along eleven miles (in each direction), enhancing the landscape along this heavily traveled corridor. The project is scheduled for completion in the spring of 2014.

The contractor for this project is Elite Landscaping Incorporated of Clovis, CA.

CALTRANS TO HOST ATWATER FREEWAY PROJECT RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

WHO: Ken Baxter, Caltrans District 10, Deputy District Director, Planning and Local Assistance; Joan Faul, Mayor of Atwater.

WHAT: The Atwater Freeway Project Ribbon Cutting Ceremony will be hosted by the Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Merced County Association of Governments (MCAG); Merced County and the City of Atwater.

WHEN: Monday, April 19, 2010, at 1:00 P.M.

WHERE: On State Route 99 (SR-99) at the Westside Boulevard Interchange in Atwater.

The $70.2 million SR-99/Atwater Freeway Project, of which $49.5 million was Proposition 1B funding, converted 2.7 miles of SR-99 from a four-lane expressway to a six-lane freeway on an alignment that allows for future growth in the region.

Other speakers include: Steven Nascimento, Field Representative, from United States Congressman Dennis Cardoza’s Office; Louise Farley, Field Representative, from State Senator Jeffrey Denham’s Office; Robin Adam, District Director, from State Assembly Member Cathleen Galgiani’s Office; John Pedrozo, Chairman, MCAG; Joan Faul, Mayor, City of Atwater.

This project included the closing of four at-grade intersections; which improved safety and mobility and reduced traffic congestion in the region.

EASTBOUND STATE ROUTE 4 (CROSSTOWN FREEWAY) AT NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 5 IN STOCKTON

Stockton - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the connector ramp from eastbound State Route 4 (Crosstown Freeway) to northbound Interstate 5.

Work will begin on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, through Wednesday, April 14, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Crews will cut brush and mow in this location.

Motorists can expect 5 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

Stockton - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the #1 (left) and #2 (middle) lanes on southbound Interstate 5 from March Lane to Alpine Avenue.

Work will occur on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

Crews will replace slabs at this location.

Motorists can expect 30 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

SOUTHBOUND INTERSTATE 5 AT STATE ROUTE 12 IN SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY

San Joaquin County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close the southbound connector ramp from Interstate 5 to State Route 12.

Work will occur on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Crews will grind and dig out asphalt to prepare the roadway for paving in this location.

Motorists should expect 5 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

• The connector ramp from southbound I-5 to State Route 4 (SR-4) will close on Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.;

• The off-ramp from southbound I-5 to Charter Way/westbound SR-4 will close on Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.;

• The #4 (right) lane from between the off-ramp from southbound I-5 to westbound SR-4 and the on-ramp from eastbound SR-4 will close on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.;

• The #4 (right) and auxiliary lanes from Fresno Avenue to Charter Way/westbound SR-4 will close on Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.;

• The off-ramp from southbound I-5 to Pershing Avenue will close on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.;

• The on-ramp from Monte Diablo Avenue to southbound I-5 will close on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.;

• The off-ramp from southbound I-5 to Monte Diablo Avenue will close on Monday, April 12, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.;

• The on-ramp from Country Club Boulevard to southbound I-5 will close on Monday, April 12, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.;

• The #4 (right) lane from Country Club Boulevard to Pershing Avenue will close on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.; and

• The #4 (right) lane from Country Club Boulevard to Monte Diablo Avenue will close on Monday, April 12, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
