NEW ALIGNMENT ON STATE ROUTE 219 TO OPEN IN STANISLAUS COUNTY

Stanislaus County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will divert eastbound State Route 219 (SR-219) traffic to the new eastbound lane from SR-99 to Morrow Road on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.

SR-219 will remain a two-lane conventional roadway, with one-lane of traffic for eastbound and westbound motorists. Crews will also activate the signal lights at the intersections of Stoddard Avenue/SR-219 and Dale Road/SR-219.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change based on weather conditions.

This $49.8 million Proposition 1B project will relieve congestion along the project limits and accommodate future growth in Modesto and the eastern Stanislaus County Region. This project will convert SR-219 from a two-lane conventional highway to a four-lane expressway from SR-99 to Morrow Road.
